Loan advice needed
I applied and was turned down for a 13k over 3 years loan @ 5.7% at the Post Office and was turned down. I'm 25, 23k income, perfect credit history (see below) but a tennant. The PO won't tell me why i was refused, neither can Experian. I only have £1400's worth of credit which is on the Halifax card.
Can anyone shed any light on why i have been turned down as my Experian report is fine apart from it still says that I am slightly over the limit on a Halifax card (an annoying blip on my report but doesn't have a red mark next to it)which they have admitted fault to as they transferred a balance and charged me a fee for doing it. They refunded the charges and I have since made two payments that've reduced the balance further. This has yet to be updated from the first week of December.
I want to apply for a loan for 10k as i can manage the extra 3k from an ISA that's matured but i'm scared of re-applying for a loan again as it may be turned down. Who am I most likely to be accepted with? I am reluctant to get a loan with Halifax as they have really annoyed me with the credit card balance transfer. I do feel though that if for whatever reason I get turned down again they (Halifax)know the amount of money I have in my account, my small outgoings and excellent conduct should see me as an ideal risk as i've been with them since i was a child.
I'd really appreciate your feedback.

Bite the bullet and go with your own bankers (for now). Take with you your copy of the Experian file and show it to them if at first you get a decline.
They may be able to refer it to their lending department to re-assess the proposition.0
