Well done! Sound like a good few months!

Have a look at the grocery challenge - lots of people trying to stick to a food budget! A new one for March will probably start at the end of this week.

The demotivator is also very useful to bring it home to you how much a those wee £1 or £2 spends here and there will cost you over time! Its quite scary how it all adds up... :eek: (...which is why I now bring a packed lunch to work. :rotfl: I think these savings alone will cover a holiday for me this year! :T )

It is with First Direct. Had a quick look at their site and they are still doing the 5% regular saver.

Go to FirstDirect.com then click on Savings and you will see it's the second one in the list... (You do have to have their 1st Account).

Hi,

Ive been following the MFI3 T2 forum weekly all year but have completely neglected my own diary!

A lot has changed since I last posted here... My wife gave birth to our first child on December 3rd. We are both very happy and completely smitten with our new bundle of joy. It has brought home some changes that we didn't expect when starting the MFi3 T2 challenge.

I am determined to make this challenge work for us as I think it will only benefit our new arrival and ourselves if we can keep our heads down.

I really cannot forecast every cost our new baby will bring in the early years and I'm sure it will be sporadic at best. All we can do is continue to try and save as much of our disposable income on lowering our mortgage deficit.

Wish us luck and many thanks for all of your encouragement over the past two years. It's amazing what we have achieved in a relatively short space of time...

I've posted an updated SOA. There are some holes and some comforts like sky tv and relatively high food costs but I know that harder times are gnu to be upon us with my wife potentially taking upto a year off work and looking at childcare options is nit gouge to be cheap...

Let me know if anyone has any ideas on how we can keep to our goals
