Dying leather?

Not sure if this is the right board so please move it if not...
I bought some boots yesterday that I love the style of, but the colour is an orangey tan and I'd have preferred a dark brown.
Does anyone know anything about dying leather? Can you do it at home?
The boots are slouchy with folds, so I am a bit wary of wrecking them as they cost a not OS at all £95!!!
Or shall I just learn to love tan?

Leather can be dyed, not sure if you can do it from home tho, you might need to go to a leather specialist. Maybe try a shoe repair shop to see if they sell leather dye?
