Swap supermarket veg for elsewhere

We've noticed that Asda veg seems to off after 3 days, whereas our local world food shop veg lasts 1-2 weeks.

A survey of penioners confirmed what I thought:

It looks cheaper at the supermarket on the bottom line, but it isn't because it goes off too quickly to even use!

That's all folks :-)
Order of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker

    Hi

We do buy Veg from the supermarkets and you are very right it dose not last that long...

We try to buy most of our Veg now from the local farmers market.
We find that its not as cheep but its very fresh and dose last a lot longer.

The supermarket is very quick and easy you can do everything in one quick shop and you can get some very good prices but the Veg is not that fresh so it dose not last as long.
When we buy from the super markets we now tend to freeze the Veg we buy. So that it lasts and dose not end up in the compost bin.
All the Veg we get from the local farmers market we do not freeze this we eat it all fresh.
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

I used to live in England and would visit farmers markets for better quality fruit and veg and other quality food. When I moved to llanelli I could not find any "Farmers markets" and had to make do with the usual indoor markets in Llanelli, Swansea or Carmarthen. OMG the do not call them farmers markets but they all sell fresh local veg and "home" or locally prepared hams cakes etc. The only difference is that they charge really good prices without being pretensious. Fantastic!

    Hi

Since we moved down to the South West I have bought most of my fruit and veg from the local veg shop. Its better quality and lasts longer (I don't know whether its cheaper but I do know that I'm helping to keep locals in work and that there is a good turnover so it is fresh)
