Hiya
i wondered if I could possibly get some advice on baking mini cakes/muffins. The cases i have bought are SuperCook Mini Cake Cases .. and they are tiny!! .. It says on the back that they are for mini cakes/muffins or petit fours .. Do i just use normal cake/muffin mix ? and do i need to turn down the heat or just normal temp and reduce time ?
Also .. i dont have a tin with cups small enough for the cases .. do you think they would work on a normal flat tray, or do you think they will spill/flatten?
If anyone else has used them for mini cakes then i would love your input
Many thanks

i use normal cake mix in cupcakes. not sure about the timings though. i guess just keep an eye on them!
i use my cases on a normal, flat baking tray and dont have any probs but if you double up the cases it might help. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
We used to make mini sponges in them a loooong time ago for childrens parties, I think they took about 5-8 mins, and about 1 tsp of ordinary sponge mixIt matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.

Can't speak for cakes, but regularly make mini-muffins.
Yes, use an ordinary muffin mix/recipe.
You'll get about three times as many mini-muffins as you would get normal sized ones, and they'll take between 1/2 and 2/3 of the time to cook.
Whether they'll spread...probably depends on the recipe. I'd avoid any really mushy recipes - things including banana etc - and stick to slightly drier mixtures.0 -
