Is it ok for me to melt dairy milk and place it on top of a cupcake?

I wonder if maybe you should melt a little bit of butter and/or cream into the mix and then it will set more like cake topping?

It's fine. Melted chocolate on its own will create a hard shell. If you want soft icing, add fat (cream, butter, cream cheese).0

if you do use it, melt it on the hob rather in the microwave as this might cause it to split as i found out once!!0
