My OH is never very bothered about Christmas and this year I pretty much gave up on asking him what presents he/we were going to get his family (women don't find nagging fun no matter what some men may think0
Anyway we still need to get 2 presents as he hasn't sorted anything!
For his mum and dad, and for his 18 y/o brother who's at uni.
No food, alcohol or toiletries.
Ideas so far are a USB key for his bro. For parents either take them out for a meal or tickets to cinema/theatre etc.
Any other ideas, gratefully received, it's got to be available in the high street (of course my OH always leaves it too late for shopping online)!
budget probably £10- £15 for his bro, £30 or so for parents (really depends on quality of gift if its going out will probably budget more).

A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Has your partner asked them if they would a certain thing or could you ask them?..
Argos, tesoo asda have cheap pen drives in, cdrws's, notepads, nice pen set..
As for parents a night out to the cinema and voucher to a food restaurant sounds like a good idea, if they havent got a pressie in mind..♥♥♥Life is too short to wake up with regrets ♥ So love the people who treat you right. ♥ Forget about the one’s who don’t ♥ Believe everything happens for a reason ♥ If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands ♥ If it changes your life, let it ♥ Nobody said life would be easy, they just promise it would be worth it ♥0 -
for his parents you could buy something related to any hobbies they might have, e.g. gardening, baking etc. Or maybe a nice photo frame or collectable ornament.
does his brother have an ipod/mp3 player? if so you could get him a gift card for music downloads, or earphones.0 -
Not sure where you live, but do you have a Hawkins Bazaar near you? I picked up a kit for making ginger beer there for my dad as a stocking filler. Definitely worth a poke about if you have one near you.
I know you said no food or alcohol, but you could pull together an easy last minute present for your BIL by buying a cheap gift bag and popping inside a DVD, a bag of popcorn and either a beer or a fizzy drink. You could call it a 'Night In' kit.
Your MIL and FIL might be more difficult to buy for... What about a scarf for your MIL? You wouldn't have to guess her size and you could get something fairly neutral that any woman would wear.
What about a magazine/newspaper subscription? I've seen those for sale in supermarkets, but I'm not sure how much they go for.
Speaking of subscriptions, what about an iTunes gift card for your BIL? You can get those at the supermarket too.
I'm pretty sure I saw a photo calendar at Boots last time I popped in - it's got spaces for you to put your own photos in. You could put some pictures in of your OH and his side of the family - or of your kids, if you have any. Apparently you can buy these for cheaper at either Aldi or Lidl - not sure which, but I read that on MSE so hopefully someone can clarify that. Boots might be easier to get to though, anyway, if you're planning a last minute high street dash.0 -
To be honest, I've bought all my last minute gifts from 'Oxfam Unwrapped'. So much choice. That's Numberwang!0

For the 18yr old at uni. Hawkins Bazaar would be a good stop for wierd but fun stuff to play with at uni with his mates. Alternatively you could put together a survival kit (make it as serious or as jokey as you want). USB stick, pen and notebook etc (for when he actually has to do some work), tin of beans or a pot noodle (nutrition), Home Brew kit / can of beer / emergancy drinking money (for the other side of things). Or ou could go to WHSmiths and see how much a magazine subscription is to something like FHM.
Parents again you can get a cinema gift pack from smiths. Alternatively you can get gft vouchers from the local cinema and wrap them in a popcorn tub with some bags of popcorn and sweets etc to make it more of a gift.2013 Free Money - £363.44 Topcashback
2014 Free Money - £59.84 Topcashback
2015 Free Money (so far) - £186.33 Topcashback0 -
