I would have thought it would be better to have the fridge quite full. When you open the door the cold air will fall out and room temperature air will be drawn in. The air that has been drawn in will have to be cooled down again. If your fridge is full of stuff thats less air to fall out and be replaced with warm air.
Just dont fill the fridge too much as the air inside wont be able to circulate which will could cause warm spots and make the fridge less efficient.0 -
Freezer full to run efficiently and fridge half full to run efficiently.
Every time you open the door to the refrigerator, you let out cold air and let in warm air and when you shut the door, all that warm air you let in has to be cooled down. The more air space in the fridge, the more cold air that can be swapped with warm air from the kitchen. More warm air more cooling required.
You don't want to cram in so much stuff that chilled air can't circulate; parts of the fridge will take longer to cool down then and the refrigeration unit will just have to work harder£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4
