terrified of dmp...

Suzie,
I can quite honestly say I didn't run up my £18,000 debt just by buying essentials. A lot of it was crap, impulse buys, me being wasteful etc. I never gave this a thought when I set up my DMP. THEY want their money back, YOU want to give them their money back...so alls good! Don't panic, all will be fine. And if you are paying off in 4-5 years thats pretty good...mines going to take about 9 all told!

hi all
just wanted to thank you all for your replies, they have really helped me and set my mind at ease, ive been so worried and depressed and feeling guilty about the debts that i have felt suicidal, but now i can see that i do have options and can have a better future and not be worried.
I would like to post a soa but i need to wait another month as i am trying to sort out my living arrangements, so if i post my current soa it will not be helpful as my partner does not work, so i am currently paying their share of things as well as my own. By feb i should know what i am doing home-wise and be able to post a soa. I used estimated figures in the debt remedy pack just to give me an idea but it cam up with a payment of around £375 a month which i was quite ok about and would mean creditors getting around 60-70% of the contracted or minimum payments. My partner has scraped together some money and has had money as xmas presents which he has given me to get through Januarys payments which is good and ive made all Decembers payments fine.
I have joined gamcare to help me stay off gambling and am doing cbt to help my depression, so last thing to sort is my debts!
Thanks again for all your help it really means a lot. As soon as i have figures for soa i'll post it and will be grateful for any advise.
Thankyou
oh and merry xmas xx
