    Hi Jason,

It sounds like a complicated situation and so I would suggest an urgent visit to Citizens Advice with all your paperwork for suggestions and advice. They can help with your debts as well as check that you are getting all the benefits you could receive for your family. How bad is your arthritis? Perhaps you could be entitled to Disability Living Allowance if it affects your everyday life, again CAB will be able to advise whether or not they think it is worth you putting in a claim and will be able to help you fill in the form. DLA is not income based so won't be affected by any other income you have, it's paid for the extra costs of having a disability.

  • It seems that you should certainly be getting more help financially than you are at present. I dont know the rules and regulations but I do know that if you are in receipt of Income Support you should not have to pay Council tax at the very least!
It seems that a visit to Citizens Advice would certainly be benificial to you esp with four children and two of those under 1! Dont forget to take ALL your paperwork with you...
Good luck and you are doing the best thing... not sticking your head in the sand and ignoring it!
