  • Been there & done that with my 97 yr old Grandmother. It took me 28 weeks of waiting for her to see an incontinence nurse at home  I eventually bought her a new wardrobe of clothes because of the smell.

Since her admission to our local Nursing home, problem solved. I don't know what they do, apart from using pads, but she's always smells sweet now :D

Best wishes to you & your Nan

    hello everyone,

thank you ever so much for all you replies, and for your kind messages.

she has now been transferred up to the main hosp in our area, they are using nappies on her (when they can be bothered!) but things are improving slightly in that department.

yesterday after literally getting home from hosp we had a call saying we must go back, as she was near the end,, so we went, she did look very unwell but certainly not near deaths door.

to cut a long story short, we left at around 3pm, as she was sleeping and settled, we went back at 5 pm and she was hoarse from shouting for a nurse as she had wet herself and all the bedclothes, the hosp have moved her to a side ward at the bottom of corrior and obviously havent been checking on her!! it was heartbreaking. then after we had got a member of staff to come and help, they were called off by another assistant and as we were asking well hang on, who's going to help our nan, she actually said, 'I'm not listening' and walked off!!

we're heading back up to the hosp soon and tomorrow are hopefully going to get some answers, thankfully my best friends mum works for the PALS service for this hosp so she will help also.

thanks again for all your kind words and replies. im sorry if some of this is rambling but ahve not had much sleep so my brain has gone on strike!!
Please be nice to all moneysavers!
