Gran Turismo On Ps1

My son has a PS1 Gran Turismo game that seems to have developed a fault and therefore he would like a new version for his birthday. I would however like to buy new rather than 2nd hand as I am a bit wary that the one he got may not completely work either. The fault on his game is not apparent until you have got quite far into it, so I would only be completely confident with a brand new one. Of course, as it is such an old version of Gran Turismo I am having trouble finding somewhere that sells this new. Can anyone point me in the direction of a retailer who still has some new versions please?

Amazon have 'Gran Turismo 2 Platinum' brand new for the PS1. The original is quite a bit older, so you may struggle getting that new - but perhaps a good excuse for an upgrade anyway?

Thanks for that. However my son insists that he wants the original Gran Turismo, ie not "2" or "3" etc, (at 6 he is not too savvy about these things yet and refuses to be told that the newer ones are better!!). He never makes things easy for me!!

I managed to buy a new copy for DS on ebay for 99p, he loves GT1 and was an absolute bargain. GT1 is ten a penny on ebay so go really cheap.

Also sorry to say that the newer ones arn't better GT1 is the best out of the lot.:D don't worry my 5yr old proves me wrong all the time

Thanks for that, but the ones on ebay at the moment are all showing as used. Would you by any chance have the ebay username of the person you bought from so I can contact them direct and see if they have any more please?

No sorry I don't it was ages ago and no longer in "my ebay" . The one I bought was listed as used but came brand new. but you can get some that are hardly used, don't be put of buy this, you could nab yourself a bargain and have a reltivly new game to show for it. so long as the disk isn't scratched he wont care

Think you would struggle to find a new copy of the orignal Gran turismo on the PS1 with it being so old, I would just opt for a second hand one in good condition as they should be only a couple of quid

Just had a quick look on ebay and there are some second hand one for "buy it now" at £1.97 and £2.50 plus there are some that are for sale at a higher price
