even if you have an inconsiderate flat mate ref the electric (have you talked to him/her about it?), you could still check to see if you are with the cheapest supplier and then switch via a cash back site to get a bit of extra dosh?
Well done on taking the bull by the horns, I hope that you continue to keep motivated

That's brilliant progress so far, knocking more than 2 years off your DFD. I sympathise with the electricity situation, it must be difficult when you and your housemate have different priorities.
Have you looked into matched betting? It's not everybody's thing, and it's very difficult to grasp the concept but if you can then it's a massive moneymaker. I've done a bit but just don't have the time. Just a thought!0 -
thanks for all the encouragement everyone.
Briefly looked at the matched betting, but would need to sit down and concentrate hard to figure it out, and not had the chance to do that yet. Managing to do those 10p scratchcards those!
Seem to be spending inordinate amounts of time on ebay, and everyone at work thinks I've opened a post office, what with comings and goings of parcels.
So far I have had quite a few positives. According to the schedule I should be down to £82k come the end of August. Aiming for sub £80k.
On top of that, had a injury claim going back just under 5 years ago now. Think that should be coming to a close in the next 6 months, not factored that in as no idea how much it could be, so fingers crossed.LBM 14/11/08: Debt £114,626; 31/01/09 £106,800. 28/02/09 £87,047 31/03/09 £86,424, 30/04/09 £84,080, 31/05/09 £82,900, 30/06/09 £82,050, 31/07/09 £80,693, 31/08/09 79,759, 24/2/10 77,014 15/08/11 89,300

well been away from the boards for a bit. Been very hectic, especially with the extra ebay headaches, which I have seen can be quite common from reading around here.
Had my paypal account frozen, leading to some very irate sellers. Still not sorted and could cost me a bit of money - have to wait and see on that.
was hoping to have made some better progress this month, but it's looking like I will pay off approx £600. Not as much as I wanted, but progress all the same. Had a couple of car expenses, and train prices, which I have to catch sometimes seem to have skyrocketed since start of the year.
My target of £80k by 1 Sept is looking a bit suspect at the moment. Overtime has been a bit thin last few months, hoping there will be more opportunities over the next few. I guess the tax code changes on 1 April will help a little as well. Car has to go in for MOT next month, so fingers crossed on that front.

Got to the end of the month. As expected, slightly behind on expected debt reduction this month, but I guess after the big reductions in the last few months, there would also be times like these.
Car has to go in for MOT during the next month, which is always a bit hit and miss so hopefully won't be hit too badly.
This month seems to have been the toughest in terms of staying focused. Got busy with work and other things, and slightly lost track of budgets etc. Guess it is only to be expected at times as this is a long haul, and not a quick fix, though looking at the numbers I am always thinking, what else can I do to get the numbers down.
Well during this month, hit the £10 mark on daily scratchcards, and have some £50 due soon on quidco. Chipping away, look after the pennies and the pounds take care of themselves as they say.

You are doing an amazing job.
worry about HMRC and you should be OK.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Last week was the busiest I've been at work, but getting overtime paid is not looking too good.
Managed to bag a £5 win on the scratchcards this week, so now up to £20. I'll withdraw just before the end of the month.
Been offered a 3.9% LOB transfer on 1 on my credit cards. Has a 3% fee, but I figure it will still be worth it if my debt will be lasting more than a year and a half, so I may have a reshuffle of some of my CC debts.
Ebay seems to have been a bit hit and miss. Made some money on some things, but a couple of problems with some on ebay means I lost a bit. Overall still up, but not as much as I was hoping.LBM 14/11/08: Debt £114,626; 31/01/09 £106,800. 28/02/09 £87,047 31/03/09 £86,424, 30/04/09 £84,080, 31/05/09 £82,900, 30/06/09 £82,050, 31/07/09 £80,693, 31/08/09 79,759, 24/2/10 77,014 15/08/11 89,300

made progress this month, though looking at the next few months, I think I could stagnate. Depends on a few unknowns. Have a few expenses unplanned for that i have to pay for my mum. At worst I could stagnate, though still hopeful if I get some overtime I can continue to get towards my target of £80k by september.
But hey, sun has been out recently and things always seem better when the sun is shining.
cashed in my scratchcards cash, and nearly upto £80 on quidco when it pays, which is likely to be in June.LBM 14/11/08: Debt £114,626; 31/01/09 £106,800. 28/02/09 £87,047 31/03/09 £86,424, 30/04/09 £84,080, 31/05/09 £82,900, 30/06/09 £82,050, 31/07/09 £80,693, 31/08/09 79,759, 24/2/10 77,014 15/08/11 89,300

I know what you mean about stagnating...I'm at pretty-much the same figure as I was 2 years ago which is really depressing, but then I look at how much I've done since then (baby, new house, loads of work on house) and I'm actually quite pleased that I haven't added anything to the debt.
Keep plodding on with it and you'll get there eventually (at least that's what I'm hoping!)0 -
I hear what your saying PP. Keep looking at my spreadsheet and it says that with time my debt will go down, and I wish I was there now. But that would mean I would miss out on a whole lot of living, which I know I have been partly guilty of in the past.
