Equifax Question...

I've just done an update on mine.. taking a look it says I've got 9 accounts.. is this okay? the majority are settled but they still seem to be showing??

Whats the max searches you should have at any one time for a 6 week period??

Settled accounts will remain on file for 6 years form the date of settlement

and try to limit searches to 2/3 per month at the most, if you hit more than 6/7 in six months it will not help your attractiveness to creditors

okay.. it showed only 1 search.. but a few under various search types.. ie O2, RBS and a few experians.. are these not counted??!

The searches are broken down in to 3 main types,

1) applications for credit
2) creditor enquiry’s indirectly related to credit applications
3) identity verification, either creditors or other credit reference agency’s

No. 1 is counted as a true "Search" , 2 & 3 , leave a "footprint" of the search activity, but are not counted when you make other credit applications
