We are toying with the idea of a steam generator iron and have heard that we would need a new ironing board as well. Did a price search on them and got a helluva fright! So, are the mesh ones neccessary? and if so were can a reasonable priced one be had?

Our ironing board is mesh and it only cost a few quid, definately less than a tenner, from Wilkinson's I think. Having said that the iron I'm using cost £4.99 from Instore and it does a great job on the odd occasion something needs ironing.;)0

I got my mesh ironing board free when I bought my Tefal steam generator. I think it has something to do with the amount of steam would leave the cover of the board very wet if there was just a solid metal top to the ironing board. I find that the cover does still get wet after a big ironing session.0

I tried a few ironing boards before settling with the one I have got. I got mine from Costco and it was about £50 but is billiant and very sturdy. The make is Brabantia and it is 53" x 18".
Very similar to this one

I tried others but found them to be flimsy and I iron loads everyday so I wanted something substantial. I am well pleased with it.0 -
Hi
I recently bought a steam generator iron, the one that was on subsitute at arogs! :-)
How ever it is brillient and I thought I'd work away with my exsisting ironing board , it is solid noot mesh . But like others say it does get wet after a while ironing.

BBDebt free HOORAY !:T :A Years from now it won't matter what kind of car we drove, what kind of house we lived in, how much money we had in the bank, nor what our clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, we were important in the lives of our children.0
