Ways to Earn

Hi,
I'm new to the boards and have a considerable debt that I want to get rid of quickly (Don't we all
) .
Does anyone know of any reputable schemes for making money at home. Things like selling Avon, delivering 'phone books or stuffing envelopes.
I've been out of work for sometime (for a good reason) and the debts have piled up and I want to earn some extra money to pay them off.
I should be starting a new job in couple of weeks time and it will be shift work so I will have some spare time that I'd like to fill by making money if possible.
I'm up for anything that pays and is legal so if anyone has got any good ideas could you post them.
Thanks

Deliver a free sheet newspaper. My friend's son got about £6-7 depending on leaflets. Good exercise for him and only an hour a week.Love living in a village in the country side0

I grow plants and nows the time to start. Research what you could sell to friends, at car boots or from the house. 9car boots competitve now)
I have regular customers now but they know I do it for charity so they keep coming back.Love living in a village in the country side0 -
I sell children's books in the same kind of vein as Avon - it's a bargain starter price and I love it - especially since it's helping clear our debts too! There's lots of other things like that too now - books, cards, chocolates, undies - pretty much whatever you fancy. Just make sure if you go for a direct selling thing they are checked out by the DSA (direct selling association) so you know they're legit.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0

Do some more shifts or overtime.
Avoid Amway as they're a MLM scheme.0 -
Thanks for the replies. Good ideas.
I'm looking for something where there is no outlay really (as I don't have anything spare).
I've been trawling the local papers and have repied to a couple of adverts for delivering parcels/catalogues/newspapers but my area seems to be saturated (must be a lot of people in debt out there!).
I've also seen a couple of classified adverts that state you can earn extra income and either give a website address or just a telephone number but I'm a bit wary of them - the websites don't give anything away and I'm worried they would just be a scam.
Any other ideas or legitimate web links would be appreciated.0 -
there's a post on here which I posted on last week about doing surveys - it won't make you rich quick but if you're at home with internet access it's worth keep registering for lots of them and then answering any surveys you can when you get emails - I've got about £500 in 18 months doing sites and I don't have time to do everything I get emails for as I'm at work in the week at the moment.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Hi
Just done the yellow pages. Got approx. £105 for delivering 600 odd of the horrid things. No tax to pay. You do need a car though and somewhere to store them while you work your way through delivering them.
Gutty.....but made me appreciate what £100 was really worth!!!!!
My feet and back are now jsut about back to normal!!!!What's he building in there???
Debt at highest £30,450 (Dec 05)

Avoid any of those get rich quick/second income schemes you'll see on flyers and in local papers.
Have you thuoght about Ebay? Selling your own unwanted items and maybe branching out? I have in the past sold books on there picked up dirt cheap and car boots and my local second hand market.
I'd second the doing surveys thing - it's not shed loads of money but I normally manage to pay for christmas pressies etc using my survey cash/vouchers or Amazon points.0 -
