Notice of Assignment - very confused

Hello,

I would be very grateful if anyone could give me some advice.
On 9th April I received a letter from my original creditor stating that they had passed on my debt of £6222. 7 days later I received a Notice of Assignment from the new company stating that the debt was £7911 (an increase of £1689 in 7 days??). I submitted a CCA request in June which they have failed to respond to in any way, including a formal complaint made to them soon after. This morning I have received another Notice of Assignment from the same company stating that this debt now stands at £8552. I am now concerned as, as far as I am aware, this debt is still in dispute and has been since June and therefore no further charges can be added - is this right and why would thay have sent me another Notice of Assignment when they sent one 8 months ago??

I'm sure they are just trying to scare you into paying!
Stick around, Fermi and RAS are usually very good with this sort of situation

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Thanks Linda - I certainly could use some advice - it's really getting me down. All I want is a valid CCA and then I'll be happy to talk about repayments - they just refuse to put anything in writing.

Are you 100% certain the debt collectors have received your letters? Did you send them recorded delivery?

If you have proof of delivery, then the debt is frozen after the time limit . No interest can be added while in dispute . So do not worry about the increase , if it went to court IF the CCA was produced and Judged enforceable . A court would not allow the increase from when the dispute was registered to the date of the Judgement .

    Thanks Stapeley
I had hoped that the letters with the drastic increase in amounts was just trying to scare me - I just have to stand my ground now and see what happens.

thanks to everyone for their help and advice.
