My ex has been paying me for last couple of years from his wages, csa finally found him only took them 13 years:rolleyes: say no more,
anyways last month (ex's oct pay) my money was £170 short ex's employer's (very well know company) payroll dept reckon they had been looking at wrong schedule  funny how my money been ok before that:rolleyes: , anyways csa finance dept re sent them schedual and told them to take the normal money plus the shortfall from his november pay so i would get it this month the cut off is the 19th been ringing the csa all this week to see if money turned up and never guess what it hasnt:mad: ex's company didnt take it out of his november pay....im fuming as i was due over £500 and banking on that to get my son's pressies, i also got 3 DD due to come out of bank i know im gonna get charged for that, If i lived nearer to that company i would have gone to them yesterday and committed murder im that mad.
My ex will have been laffing last month when he got his FULL pay.
So if anyone gets their money paid through ex's wages dont always bank on it like i did.
Ange

So you are going to get your son's Christmas present(s), with his fathers money? Which is taken to help provide day too day living expenses for his child.
Sorry if my reply sounds like a rant and moan also Squiggle37. But I've all along thought my past payments were used by my ex-wife to buy presents and go on holiday also!0 -
I know how you feel Squiggle my situation is not as bad as yours but i was charged for 2 direct debits last month coz the money didnt come through in time. Bernie i think you will find that like me Squiggle uses the majority of her own money to pay for her kids day to day living and bills so when the csa money does come we have every right to use it on what we like, if the csa money was paid every day/week then we wouldnt be using it for other things as it would be there at the proper time to be use for what its ment for.0

How this lady chooses to budget her money is up to her and she certainly should not be judged. As it has taken 13 years to get any money out of her ex at all she has obviously had to learn to manage her money to support her child.
Ange all you can do is complain to the CSA and ask them to take enforcement steps. Not a lot of help for now I know but unfotunately thats all the advice I can give you.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
My ex owes me 38K give or take a few quid so i can choose what to do with the money. like i say i was short last month and had to pay for day to day living from my money.
Yes i had planned on buy his christmas pressies as in the past i have struggled for years when i been working full time paying for childminder, bill, food etc and had no money from ex then...
i just want to add ex hasnt bought my son a xmas/birthday present since he was 5 hes now 16.
Im ringing csa tomorrow and ask about the enforcement...thanks0 -
It isn't up to you what the ex spends the money on - presents for Christmas are part of the day to day costs of bringing up children, and she will have used all her own money for the other costs.Bernie_Flint wrote: »So you are going to get your son's Christmas present(s), with his fathers money? so youd rather your child went without presents or family holidays?
id guess the dd's that wont be gettin paid will be household bills anyway so fail to see whats wrong in paying some bills and providing your kid with presents out of maintainence money!!

so you would rather that your ex didnt buy presents for your child with the money that you give her or take your child on holiday with that money??
I myself have a full time job and have enough each month to support my daughter and myself no problem and when my ex was paying maintenance i used that money to treat both of us and i dont see theres anything wrong with that especially when im the one thats bringing my daughter up day to day on my own, i take her to school pick her up from school, im the one who gets up in the middle of the night when shes ill and has to take time off work unpaid when shes ill. All my ex had to do was see her for a couple of hours each week and pay abit of money. im sorry for the rant but the way i see it is as long as the child is being brought up right then what is the problem with that money being used to buy presents.0
