Yes we did - collected two sets of forms, filled them all in and then rang the Court fo an appointment. We went to Court the next day and filed the papers, then went back the next to be declared bankrupt by the Judge. It's quite easy really. We did get some advice as a result of being on the Tonight with Trevor Macdonald programme that went out last year, and teh chap we saw advised bankruptcy was our only way out. At the time, we couldn;t afford the fees, but TWTM and GMTV paid enough to cover one set of fees, and we borrowed the rest of my motherinlaw.

i know how you feel, its all the kinda questions i'm looking for answers to.

Does anyone know, if i'm living with my girlfriend, it is okay for just me to go bankrupt isn't it ?

As we rent a house now, they couldn't take that! Also kept both cars, as mine's only worth £500 and Hubby's is only worth around £50! We're still bankrupt at the moment, and will be until 13th December 2006. Until then, we can't take out any credit for more than £500 without telling the insitution involved that we're bankrupt. We've had to downgrade the bank account to a basic one, so no cheque book but we do get a Visa Electron card. As we had nothing of any value, the OR hasn't taken anything off us. As for the creditors, they'll all be notified by the OR that we're now bankrupt. There's definetly been a reduction in the number of nasty letters we've been getting! And if we get any phone calls, we just them we were declared bankrupt, give them the case number and they leave us alone. We definetly won't be taking out further credit when this is over! We're actually more in control of our money now than we've ever been!

what do you mean by a "dim view"... its just that all the debt is in my name and don't want her involved..
