Just wondering if anyone knew which shop was the best on price for its own branded food?
When we were in Tescos last week the prices of everything we needed not just thier own brands had gone up,not by pence but 20p or more, the big bag of dog bis we buy had gone up in one week by £4.33,dont get it,the petrol has gone down but the food gone up
anyone got any idea? thanks in advance
take care

I find that Aldi's and Lidl's usually, but not always, have the best price on non-name brand food. I also scout out Home Bargains and B&M. Often B&M will have the name brand cheaper than own brands.
When I find an exceptionally good bargain on things we use frequently, I buy in bulk.
When doing a big shop, I use https://www.mysupermarket.com. It will show potential savings on many items by substituting own brand or multi-buy, BOGOF offers. It compares Ocada, Sainsbury's, Tesco and ASDA for the best overall price.
If you're willing to shop around, you can definitely save.

I'd try here and compare prices.
Otherwise I would try Aldi or Lidl for your shopping, extremely good value.
