Items that will be reduced are always marked on the back of the ticket label with a highlighter. I tend to suss out what I am going to buy before the sale actually starts

Some clothing reduced but Christmas crockery and gifts were half price
  • it could start anytime from now to be honest, they don';t give a straight answer last year customers were told it started after christmas but it actually started christmas eve, and mark downs would of began, they will be highlighted on the price tag, but just be aware this isn't ''proof '' its a sale item so if it comes up full price it won't of been reduced on the system yet, just giving a heads up :A

According to the signs in our store it starts on Christmas Eve but a lot of the stuff was already half price AND I used the voucher on top of the sale savings
    There will always be:
A “LIE” in BELIEVE, an “OVER” in LOVER, an “END” in FRIEND, an “US” in TRUST , and an “IF” in LIFE ;)

Just got back from Matalan, bought things in homeware - original cost £100, got 50% off so £49`ish due to vat then had my 20% voucher so paid £39...
Was definitely worth a visit. Won`t be bothering tomorrow as there wasn`t anything in the clothing department that we wanted.

    A big saving thank you.

Hi! Does anyone know when the Matalan Sale starts? Someone told me Christmas Eve, Has anyone heard anything?

I bought some reduced items at 50% off last sunday. I also used the 20%off voucher and saved £10 - Thanks to the OP for sharing:T

I spotted some really nice clothes that didn't have reduced stickers on, but had the barcodes crossed through with a pink or yellow marker. I asked a SA if they were in the sale too and she said no, they were just marking up items for when the big sale starts on 24th.

Went to Matalan today & the woman next to me in the queue asked what the highlighter on the price tag meant. When she was told that it meant that the item would be in the sale tomorrow, she walked out, saying that she would be back to purchase them all then! She had loads of stuff, too!!

Typically, nothing I wanted to buy was highlighted! So I just used the 20% voucher that they had sent me by email!

Seems like its pretty much confirmed that its starting in store tomorrow!
Everything I wanna do is either illegal, immoral or fattening! lol :rotfl:
