has anyone been to one of these?
are they really as good as they are made out to be?
where can I see lists of where they will take place? (google leads to mostly sites that want you to pay or aren't very good)

In Scotland they're normally held at Wilsons in Dalry (Wilsons has places all over the place inc Ireland).
Are they any good? You might get lucky, but i've seen people paying £18 for a £20 gift voucher (add 10% then the vat on the 10%) giving you a total of £20.11 (vat was 17.5 at the time).
Also saw £10 (add 10% then the vat on the 10%) for a Tesco kettle with £9.99 on the box.
The only bargain I ever got was a box of shoplifted razor blades. At the time it was about £150 worth, got them for £22 plus fees.
Everyone assumes it's cheap but realistically, it's not.0
