I got this today as well with Amazon delivery, but the only thing that put me off is that you can't get your £5's back if you change your mind, although as you say you can cancel future payments at any time.

I was just a bit concerned at putting my £5's away for a few months and then finding that prices were high or nothing I fancied, and having to lose the money or spend more to get something, if you see what I mean. With the Virgin Winebank you can at least get your money back out.

Anyway, if these are any good, I might be tempted to give it a go!

I have just got my first case through from them using a £40 off voucher. Not too impressed with the first wine I have tried (Angels Share Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2008). It was insipid and tasteless. Given all the hype on the site I was expecting something a bit better. Still it was a good way of buying cheap plonk for cooking with.

I suspect that Naked Winens has been set up by one of the main people that used to work at Virgin Wines. I always get emails from Virgin Wines from 'Rowan G', and the emails from the Naked Wines people are all signed 'Rowan Gormley, Founder, Naked Wines'.

I use to use Virgin a lot, but really went off them after a while as I found they didn't have a great range. Naked Wines seem to have even less at the mo, but they did tell me they will be getting more in soon. I've got a voucher to use with them so I guess I'll give them a try and see how it goes.

Very interesting - I suppose any new competition has got to be good for us consumers, might make Virgin et al raise their game a bit!

We tried a mixed South African case and a Case of French Sauvignion Blanc. Have liked all that we tried, particularly the SA Shiraz

Rowan Gormley WAS Virgin Wines and walked after a fall out with Direct Wines who own it, set up Naked with many staff from Virgin. Been reported in the press numerous times.
