Do I just call the tax office? or is it better to write them a letter? If it is a letter, are there any templates out there to use? Thanks in advance.
All i did was call my tax office (Get the number and ref. from your employer).
Explained to them that I had been informed about tax relief if i pay for a professional membership subscription. They asked me a few questions; taking the name of the association, my membership no. and fee amout etc. and that was it.
I didn't even have to send them anything and haven't had to do anything more about it since.
No self assessment required. Just got issued a new tax code.
If you want to claim for previous years subscriptions then I would imagine you would have to send them evidence.Loan (for car) - [STRIKE]£6600 [/STRIKE]/ £2842
Credit Card - [STRIKE]£750[/STRIKE] £00 -
I called the tax office and they changed my tax code there and then. I then asked about claiming for previous years and they asked me to send a receipt to prove I'd paid for the last 6 years (maximum that can be claimed). That was all there was to it.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0
