    Hugs of support to you.

Take a deep breath, you've come to the right place, I'm sure many experts (not me) will offer you advise shortly.

Clearly if you are not in the best of health, the endowments contain valuable life insurance that you would not be able to easily replace so you need to keep these going.

Are the endowments likely to pay off your mortgage? If so you need only be paying interest only on your mortgage. If there is likely to be a shortfall, then you could convert part of your mortgage to interest only and have part on repayment.

An interest only mortgage at 5% (and I'm sure you could find lower rates than that) would be £265 a month.

Central heating boilers cost upwards of £1,000. Many companies, including British Gas, offer to spread the cost over a couple of years.

The other thing to consider is that if your husband is your carer he may well be entitled to carers allowances. Also you may be entitled to other benefits. Ask on the Benefits board or contact a CAB office.

I haven't got advice to give regarding your finances sadly, but with regards to your ch boiler, you may qualify for a grant if you are on a low income & come under their heading of being a vulnerable person. You are obviously disabled & if you get DLA, then that fulfils one of the criteria.

Have a look here to see if you qualify. http://www.eaga.co.uk/Grants/warm_front.htm

If you're not sure then give them a ring as I found them very helpful when I applied for a grant for cavity wall insulation.

I sincerely hope you find some real help with your financial situation. The people on these boards are great, so you are in safe hands.Good luck.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
