When you get something from freecycle......

Charity shops are a far better way to get rid of stuff, and altho buyers have to pay ,they (and givers) don't have to travel any further than their usual visit to town.
Freecycle does not save the planet from pollution.
Its aim is to save stuff from going into land fill which it does.
Some stuff could be given to charity shops but they wouldn't take a boxful of wood offcuts, an old canoe in need of repair and a couple of tyres - all of which we have rehomed through Freecycle.0 -
I've just come across this thread - i have heard of the name 'freecycle' but how do you get to see whats on offer etc. do you need to register/is registration free/what personal details do you need to give etc. i'm new to this 'idea' so please excuse the 'silly' questions0
