When we were on holidays we just totally forgot about it and then when we went home just never thought about it again. question is can they pursue this will i have a warrant or something if i ever try to visit america again.[/quo

They could persue it, but they almost certainley wont !

The real question is - Are you likely to want to return to Florida ? If yes, then I'd suggest paying as if you are in anyway involved with the authorities on a future visit to FL and ONLY FL (state law only applies here, not federal), your unpaid fine will show and you will be liable for arrest. You could return multiple times and and have a hassle free vacation, but is it worth the risk ?

As for those who say you'll be arrested on your next visit, it's totally wrong (as that only applies to federal offences). Four years of residency in the US and being educated in some aspects of US law has taught me just what can/could/can't be done.
  • I would have paid it straight away, I cannot imagine forgetting something like that, just can't get my head around you thinking you could just let it go and come home without paying it.....

    May I ask your age?

If you paid for your car hire by CC then I would guess they will still have your card details and surely they would just take the $130 off your card anyway?
  • Hello - I'm with the pay it people. I can't imagine forgetting a ticket
I can just imagine the fizzing if someone had received a ticket here and then flown home to another country and ignored it.....(yes I know it happens)...
  • This forum is truly amazing ? If as has happened numerous times, someone posts about getting a parking ticket in the uK, the whole of the world and many of the usual suspects jump up screaming about technicalities and how you should immediately get on to barrackroomlawyer.com and fight the money grabbing low lifes etc etc just look at the motoring forum?

But because the ticket is in the USA and people want to go on holiday, it's all pay up ?

So I suppose in our little island we are happy to crap on our own doorsteps and ignore our laws, but not in holiday world ; ) Aint Englandistan marvellous.
  • Maybe some people are just honest......

My point was you would hardly get anyone saying pay up on the UK parking issue, but because it's holidayland it's all supportive to pay up.
  • & maybe because you really don't want the US authorities on your case!!!
