Electoral register, recent utility bill, driving licence or passport, recent bank statement, P60 or self assessment, recent payslips, previous mortgage statement (if applicable), details of personnel department (or accountant). thanks are you sure thats all do they not do a background check as i recently changed my surname ??????????????/0 -
They just need to know you are you, in my case a different name then on my passport meant I had to take in my marraige certificate0

I,m looking to apply for a mortgage and the end of the year with my partner and I,m lucky enough to have a deposit that nearly covers half the price of the house we are after.
I'm also starting a new job this june but unfortunately I have been unable to work over the past four years and I am worried this will have an effect on our mortgage application ????. All the other items on the checklist above are fine, and when we make the application I will have been in employment for 5 to 6 months.
Can anyone tell me if I will have problems getting a mortgage ???0 -
It depends very much on the lender. They'll all have their own rules and flexibilities.
When I got my mortgage with Nationwide, they were going to insist on 6 months' employment with current employer. This is/was fairly standard.
As it turned out, they did not, supposely because I was putting down a large deposit. I dunno what one thing has to do with the other, but there you go ...0
