Baby safe old syle version of air freshners/febreeze?

I'm a bit nutty and like to spray air freshner and febreeze once a day(ok more I admit) and love my windows open. My DS1 is older so I just normally have a spray when he is napping in his room.
However now I have another, just a few days old, I dare not spray anything even in other rooms. New baby also has a cold so can not open windows.
The place is starting to smell musty and of nappies and baby sick lol
I'm sure if I can smell it, by visitors can!
Any recommendations of what I can knock together to replace air freshner and febreeze until his cold has gone and I can atleast put the windows on vent?
TIA

Lavendar oil on damp cloths on your radiators - make the house smell lovely and encourage peaceful sleep! The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

The lavender oil suggestion above is a great one for the bedrooms but i find it a bit heavy for living areas. Bergamot oil used in the same way is fresh and clean smelling, it is also a good oil to use to keep coughs and sneezes at bay.0

put a couple of drops of your fave essential oil in a spray bottle add water, shake, then spray around. Lavender for bedrooms at night, a citrusy one for the kitchen. Or since it's xmas (and I know how much you love that, lol) how about a gingery or cinamon one?
If you use tumble dryer sheets you can put a damp one of those on a radiator.
If guests are just about to arrive boil up some coffee in a pan on the stove top, that will spread around the house and quickly mask nasty odours.
I saw Kim and Aggie use liquid fabric conditioner watered down, then soak a cloth in it and wipe lampshades with it, when the light is on the heat will spread the fragrance.0 -
lemon essential oil is good for clean smell, you can either put in water and spray around or use oil burner....that what we use now...much better (and cheaper) than using the chemical spray ones0

Brilliant thanks!
Already tend to stuff balls of cotton wool on top of the radiators with oils etc, plus use lavender in the bedrooms, but really was after a smell that cut through the musty aroma of sick and nappies! Tried cinnamon and vanilla, just made me hungry lol so will go get something like lemon/bergamot tommorow if it is not too cold first thing...if not i'll resort to boiling up a load of lemon juice on the hob as it is really yuk in my lounge lol. MMM...Behave yourself! x0 -
