Plugs for Christmas lights

I have got a 'canvas' with an arrangements of led lights in the shape of a xmas tree.:o
I bought it last year from Homebase,:D
Trouble is no matter where in the house I look I can't find the plug attachment to use with it!!!!
On the end of the wire are a small round and small flat prong.
ANY SUGGESTIONS.;)

  • you should be looking for a black box shape plug with no lead on it, just a small round hole etc same as the lights to put in it.. they are on a lot of lights these days........

  • Where will they sell these without lights on?
Although I expect its cheaper to buy a set of lights, just for the plug! Trouble is you can't see what sort of holes are in the box.
  • You should find a label with the voltage and polarity on it somewhere - if this is the case then Maplin and some DIY stores sell battery replacement transformers which you should be able to rig up to the lights - you may need to strip back the wires and use a choc-blox to join the wires.
  • Or you could put a wanted out on your local freecycle!

Ask in Homebase. I know B&Q had a box of 'bits' they keep parts of old display lights etc in and I was going to get transformer plug from them to replace the one that was missing from my light set (from new). I decided to return it instead though.

    Homebase may have similar?

I did everything I could to try and get something to use for an alternative socket, but had no luck!!!
Then one last look in unlikely places at home and I found the original one hiding!!!!!!!!!!!:j
