in Cutting tax
Sorry if this has been around before but I couldn't find it.
I am shortly retiring and am changing my job from a reasonable salary to casual work. I am not sure how much I can earn before having to pay tax and hope that someone can fill me in.
Thanks

Eveybody gets a pesonal allowance. These depend on your age and are detailed here. But there may be other things that get added or taken away to give you a slightly different personal allowance. Best thing to do is have a look at your wage slip, look for your tax code take off the letter and put a 5 on the end, and that is how much you can earn before paying tax.
For example if your tax code is 474L then you earn £4,745 before paying tax.0 -
