B&Q 15% off EVERYTHING starts Christmas Eve!!!

As the title says really - announced to staff on Monday morning, so if you are planning a gift for someone (Plant, power tools etc) and can wait until Christmas Eve then you will get 15% off your purchase.

No coupons needed, no minimum spend, just go in and save some £££££'s!!! Unsure when this offer ends, but pretty sure the boss said it wasn't just for one day.

Also going to be 50% off all kitchen units sometime in January, plus lots of other stuff going to be reduced, (I recall them saying that the 'Toilet and Sink To Go' range going half price I think - although a bit of a con cos they used to be about £60 a couple of months back, then they went up to £100, so as they will be £50 in the sale you technically are only saving a tenner - IYSWIM?) but I fell asleep soon after he said that bit cos our manager is such a bore and just goes on and on! :rotfl: So, sorry but I can't remember the rest, but there wasn't anything overly spectacular IMO.

Going to be lots of 15% off individual things in January. Keep a check on the website or press for more info.

On the kitchen front it's not really the deal it seems. B&Q doubled their prices from the Summer to Autumn catalogues for cabinets and doors. So 50% off just takes the price back to the full summer price. See the example pages from the two catalogues below and don't be fooled.

Also the original summer price is about right for flat pack units. The current autumn pricing is way too expensive.

Anyone know when they might reduce the price on their real Xmas trees - I have left it a bit late and didn/t really want to pay full price at this late stage ! I popped in today and there were quite a few left but all the nice ones that don/t lose their needles were 20 and 30 pounds !

Every time I go to B&Q there is hardly ever a decent sale. I think its more to do with they got the area sown up, virtually no competition for DIY things that is

Hi, I work at B&Q as well, but can't confirm if this works or not, but a good question that I will try to find the answer to when I'm next in this Saturday.

As for the other posts about the prices being a rip off etc - you aint wrong there! Some stuff is ok, but like the poster said about the kitchens - the prices were much cheaper in the summer (as with a lot of our stuff) so you really aren't getting as much of a bargain as you think. We are like blooming Asda - for every price reduction something gets increased to counteract the reduction, so effectively B&Q don't lose out much, if at all.

As for Xmas tree price reductions, if it hasn't happened yet (I haven't been in for a couple of days) then it will be very soon - they are reducing xmas stuff daily at our store. All the main offers happen every Thursday though, so possibly tomorrow morning if not before.

Can anyone tell me whether their kitchen worktops will be included in the sale? I am looking to buy a couple of the Tiger Walnut worktops at £500 each. I know I can get walnut worktops cheaper on ebay but I prefer the Tiger walnut design.

As far as I know it is just the kitchen units that will have 50% off, although there may well be some discount on other kitchen items too, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

I guess the Nuveo bathroom suite will be in the half price sale!
It was £189 about a month ago and had been for most of the year but when we went to buy one,the price had gone up to £389:eek: !!!:eek: !!!:eek: !!!:eek: !!!:eek: !Thats some price increase!
"Oh" said the SA "it will go in the sale in January" BUT WE NEEDED IT THEN NOT JANUARY!
Off we went to Focus and got one for £194!

Especially when you consider that they are still making money on the £189 price.
