courier in northern ireland

wonder if anyone can help me or have any advice. i recently started my onw business and am selling online. at the minute i am delivering withing 40 miles of ards using my own car. obviously i am kicking myself in the teeth with this as i cant go any further. so i want to hire a courier to deliver my items but the problem is they cannot be put in cardboard boxes. i need to send tehm as they are wrapped in cellophane. does anyone know of a company that will do this. i got a quote from one charging £1.10 a mile eeekk not cost effective.
love you lots like jelly tots :o

  • Have you tried fasyway? £3.95+vat for deliveries anywhere in NI. £6.95+vat to down south. Tickets have to be bought in books of 20. Thats the down side.

We used them (Fastway) for a while for our ireland deliveries (Wedding Stationery) we would call the driver in the morning he would pick them up about lunch time and about 70% where delivered next day in ireland (some where harder to find so too an extra day). We never had anything go missing. Only downside is you have to by books of stickers (Pack of 20) and we where only doing the occasional ireland parcel.

Not to sure about the no box thing, that would be very specialised.

Another option is if you can do your deliveries all in one day is just plan a route and give them rough times of when you will be there. Remember you can claim 40p per mile from the busines, so a 100 mile trip means the business owes you £40, so it helps bring down your tax bill at the end of the year. We have done this a few times when we have had a few different deliveries around the country (North and South), it can work out cheaper than the couriers but its time consuming
  • Hi.
I also looked at this site. The books of 20 seem to only last for 1wk? is this correct.
If so you would need to be busy to get the book used in 1 wk...
