Weird but wonderful mint slices

I just cannot believe how moreish these are!
They sound disgusting I know but go on...be brave...try them!
1 box Ritz crackers (BOGOF in most places at the moment)
300g plain chocolate
peppermint flavouring to taste (I used 8 capfuls of the Supercook one labelled 'natural')
Melt the chocolate.
Add the peppermint. Taste. Add more peppermint if need be.
Dip each Ritz cracker in the chocolate to coat it completely.
Set the crackers on baking parchment/reusable liner.
Leave to set in the fridge.
These taste very different after they have set. They're OK when still 'wet' but truly scrummy when set.
I wondered about trying another version with white chocolate and mint.

_pale_ ..............Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0

How did you find the recipe? I mean, who originally thought it was a good idea?
Not sure I have the nerve to try it!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
That reminds me of those pretzel flipz things you used to be able to get - it's that combination of sweet and salt. Not sure I'm brave enough to try it though lol.0

Think I'll try this with some of my christmas chocolate - something new to try with ritz crackers!0

We used to eat ready salted crisps with chocolate when we were at school, not tried it for a few years though. I do like salted butter on toast with yummy strawberry jam on top, so perhaps it's a salt/sweet thing going on??0

Oh these are great! We make some each year around Christmas time. If anyone has ever bought the thin mints Girl Scout cookies in the states, they taste the same! yummmmmMSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Honestly, if I gave you one of these to eat you would never in a million years guess they were chocolate covered ritz crackers.
They taste crispy, buttery, flakey...not at all salty.
And this is coming from someone who doesn't like chocolate covered pretzels..."Finish each day And be done with it.
