I am in court tomorrow 17/12/08 @3.10pm for repossession of my car, i have been unemployed for 18months and owe roughly 900pound arrears! i have paid 450pound off my arrears in the last 4wks, i was able to do this due to starting full time employment in Sept.
I am unable to attend the court due to work commitments, is there anything i could do to defend myself, my partner is thinking of attending for me - is this wise ?
could i write a letter to hand in for my defence?

I can now afford to pay the monthly payments and a little towards the arrears

any advice appreciated

You've left it rather late. You would have been wise to contact the court and ask for an adjournment or to ask what you could do in this situation-you could still do that in the morning and see whether you can stall things? I know that house repossession can be halted even on the day but not sure about cars. Don't forget you will also have court fees added to the debt now.I hope you sort something, especially as you have managed to pay a not insubstantial amount off over the last few months, good luck.
ps meant to say-I don't think anyone other than a legal representative can attend in your place but I'm no expert-just going on a case we had with a builder some years ago.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -
