Ok ive got an interview with the council and im after some questions i could ask, ive got some already i can ask but in no particular order:
any staff parking
oppurtunities for training
oh and i wont be asking questions about pay as ive seen it mentioned before to not ask about pay etc.
If they answer the questions i was going to ask does it look bad if I say I have no further questions

Not really. They sometimes give you a sheet with some of the most common ones answered anyway.0

I don't see what is wrong with asking about pay- it seems reasonable to me to know what you will be paid so that you can work out if you feel you are getting a fair deal - especially if the pay is advertised as being between £x and £y - surely it is reasonable to want to know where you fall into in that scale - if on the other hand it is just a fixed salary advertised then there is no need to ask - -I would also ask what the position is regarding the pension scheme (when can you join etc) just my opinion- good luck with the interviewKeep the Faith:cool:0

Posts normally start at the bottom of the salary range quoted.
You'll be able to join the pension when you've passed your probationary period.
What council/job ?"An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
!!!!!! is all that about?0 -
After the interview, the successful applicant then gets the chance to ask about pay. Not a good idea to raise the matter until you have an offer.
I don't think you should ask about car parking. Better to ask about 'sustainable transport', and ways in which the council supports its staff in being good neighbours to the local community.
And don't ask: "what training will you give me?". Better to ask about how the demands of the job are likely to change, and how the council will support your development to enable you to cope with an increasingly demanding work load.0 -
And if you have time, do a search on the 'new agenda for local government' and perhaps ask them a question about it.0
