Amazon Prime (next day shipping) Free trial for a month

I don't know if everyone qualifies for this, but I placed an order this morning and was offered a 1 month free trial of Amazon Prime, which is usually £47.97 / year and offers free next day shipping and reduced fast shipping.
It automatically renews after the month is up, charging you £47.97 , but it's a simple matter to turn off the renewal immediately and get the month free.
Perfect for last minute christmas shopping during this festive period. HTH someone:beer:

Hey if they dont bother to read or even know that they have signed up for a service whose fault is that ?? There is an option to turn off the auto upgrade once the initial trial period is over, so no excuses!!0 -

I got this offer and have got amazon prime until 28.12.2008, got worried when I saw your post, but just went into my amazon account and on my subsciptions page is an 'unsubscribe button' so I'm hoping it will be pretty easy.
Don't want to do it just yet though as might see some more amazon bargains posted on here that I HAVE to have!! :rotfl:now has her .com delivery but doesnt know where to put it0 -

You can switch it off now and it will expire when the trial period ends.0 -
I'm thinking of taking up this offer as I have a last couple of items to get, Amazon seems to be the best price around, and I need them by the end of the week.
Is there anything I should be aware of from the T&Cs? Don't want to stupidly miss something and end up paying nearly 50 quid for a service I really won't need/want after Xmas.2021 Targets

I had this 1 month trial period a few months back and it was very good. The important thing to remember, of course, is to "unsubscribe" before the time up period, and as Howdie mentioned, you can do that well before the time up period. T & C you have to pay the £49 if you don't. But it's not a nighthmare to do as it was with Setanta, if any of us remember that!0

This has been on as far as I can remember - nothing new.The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Interesting point to note here in the Amazon prime T&C: "You can always request a refund of the most recent charge if your benefits haven't been used in the new term."
In other words, if you do get charged but don't make use of Prime afterwards then you can ask for your money back.
Also T&C says:
Our one month trial is completely FREE for you to enjoy. There's no obligation to continue your membership beyond the trial period - simply cancel your membership through Your Account at any time by selecting 'Do not upgrade'."2021 Targets

Well I am glad you knew about it and thanks for another pointless post0 -
I signed up for this with intention of cancelling it after Christmas. It was supposed to be free for a month but when I signed in to my Amazon account this message was waiting for me:

Why would they be trying my account if this is a free service?Dream as if you'll live forever - live as if you'll die today0
