"You smell lovely, are you wearing deodorant?".....0

As a dedicated Chanel No 5 fan....Arpege by Lanvin is cheaper and is a similar kind of scent.
Can be difficult to find though...0 -
fragrancex is a great website and offers free shipping to the UK. But it's a bit late to order anything for Xmas now.
But I have found the prices for Chanel and Guerlain no cheaper than over here.
How about purchasing some shower gel and/or body lotion for her?
Bandit ( Robert Piguet ) is a fantastic perfume. Prohibitively expensive over here, but very cheap on fragrancex.
Also for Angel fans, Nirmala by Molinard smells very similiar and you can get the whole caboodle ie EDT, shower gel and body lotion for the same price as it costs for 25ml of Angel.
Like ascot64 has said, Arpege is similar. A lovely fragrance.
Caron perfumes are nice too.0 -
My husband bought me a HUGE bottle of Chanel No 5 back from a business trip and I know it cost him a fair bit. However, I really did not care for it. I thought it was heavy and old-fashioned. I felt obliged to use it. It lasted forever but I was glad when it was gone.
My current favourite fragrances are Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise, CKIN2U and Clinque Simply. I am also very fond of Gucci Envy and CK's Enternity.0 -
pattycake - am sure you're aware, but Simply is now discontinued, so make the most of the bottle you have left!0

Estee Lauder beautiful is very no 5 esque. You'll probably get it for around £300

Coty L'Aiamnt is meant to be a copy of Chanel No5, bit old fashioned for a 28 year old. I'd go for the body lotion of chanel No5, should be cheaper.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

You think so? I really don't think it's very similar at all! :rolleyes:0 -
I seem to remembr some people on here discussing some concentrated perfume oils from a company which were supposed to be very very simlar to famous scents...
Does anyone know where it was? I will go and have a look now.0 -
The thread I was thinking of is here:

BUT - apparently the perfume factory is now closed - there are more suggestions here:
