Currently buying a house and need a washing machine and fridge freezer. :j
Does anyone have a which? login they would let me use to find out about current models etc? Or even email me a copy of the reports on washing machines and fridge freezers?
Dont want to sign up just for 2 items! Whilst they do have a free trial at mo, you have to give credit card details, and i know i will forget to cancel it once free subscription is up!
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think WOL would take kindly to password sharing (besides, they may track it and block the account).
The only help I can provide is that the GERMAN products tend to be best (fridges and the likes are known as 'white goods'). So, this means that Siemens, Bosch, AEG, Miele are best.
Trouble is they usually cost the most too
It's usually a case of you get what you pay for sadly.
I'd steer clear of Italian white goods such as Zannusi, Smeg etc.

Hi, not got a login BUT I think many libraries now stock Which? magazines, you could give yours a ring and find out. You can also read reviews on these sites www.ciao.co.uk and www.dooyoo.co.uk - hope this helps

:j Thanks for advice but really want some impartial advice, like which. Unfortunately shop advisors arnt trained to know which makes are good and are often only there to earn money whilst in college etc (been one so i know!).
Could really do with a comparison of brands etc. - anyone got any further links with comparison charts etc.??!!0 -
You can find some very good information at http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/ - there is a Forum there too where you can ask questions. Great place to get DIY repair information and spares.0

Which? reports are available at all public libraries, you can also photo copy the report of your choice.
Just ask at the counter.
As a previous poster said you can't go wrong with Bosch or Siemens.
If you log on to Hughes Electrical/which you can find best buys there:

 ... they are crap!
And so speaks the voice of experience!
Cheap, yes... quality poor, reliabilty and durability questionable...
Mine packed in 'beyond economical repair' after 50 washes, but out of guarantee. Aaaaagggghhhhhhh!
The company itself from MD down doesn't care... so don't do yourself a disSERVIS!0 -
Buying a new washing machine is a nightmare. We have just gone through the process and decided to buy a German machine. We ended up with an AEG from John Lewis. However, after purchase we discovered that AEG are now part of the Electrolux Group that includes Tricity Bendix, and Zanussi. So it appears AEG are now Swedish. ( They may still be made in Germany). We are happy with the machine but would also reccomend the John Lewis Own Brand that have longer Warranties and are made by the same group.
Go down to a retail outlet, decide on a machine and then price check it with Kelkoo or Pricerunner. Always bear in mind that the more expensive German Machines do have longer warranties, some upto 5 years.
Hope this helps

With Bosch you need to be carefull too - some of the cheaper models are made in Spain and (apparently) not as reliable as the German made ones.
Apparently the best of the best is the Miele. More expensive that the rest, but in the long term pays for itself. I found this other review site too:

All I can add is don't undre any circumstances buy Zanussi, they gave me the worst customer service I have ever had for anything.
My dishwasher broke after 2 weeks, I had to wait in for endless repairmen who all told me it had a different fault. When they returned to fix it it was always a differnet bloke who said that they didn't agree with the previous repairman and the part wasn't needed. Hence, waiting in again for yet another part. After 4 months of waiting they agreed to replace, when this arrived they brought the wrong one.
I only got my money back after 4 phone calls and threats of going to the papers and trading standards.
It's Bosch all the way for me now.
Rant over
