in Cutting tax
Hello very good people of MSE!
I would like to ask for some help. I need to file a tax return (predominantly because I've let out my old home).
I just never got round to seeing an accountant (procrastination is the thief of time I know) and I'm now jolted into action by the large looming deadline of Jan 31.
Please can folks help me with a little checklist of what I need to file for now that I have to go it alone.
E.g
Rental income
Sundry income (occasional part time work, cashback sites etc)
against:
Mortgage interest
LA fees and charges
And also, can I add things not related to the home letting on the one form ie professional memberships etc?
Many thanks.
OMM

I don't think cashback websites are applicable unless you're claiming the purchase cost as a business expense. In the majority of the cases they are simply a discount offered by the retailer.
I'm not sure about cases where you receive more than you've spent (the likes of Lovefilm).0 -
Sorry I meant income from cashback sites etc...Tough times never last longer than tough people.0
