ok forget about someone giving you a camera , its not gunna happen
to do the job in hand , you will need a selection of cameras both digital and film plus tripods batterys , films , umberellas etc etc , you will need advertising plus headed notepaper , you will need to get yourself into every oppertunity to get some bizz such as advertising at the local registery office and wedding fairs and asking people associated such as the local church cake makers and limo companys ( 10% booking fee for them ) , ideally you will have a shop/ind unit which potriture can be done , this alone creates massive overheads , you will need albums and experience in all aspects and this is massively importent , the man management of a wedding party both before and after a wedding in a real trial , people are very very testing , trust me on this , you will need to do a couple of wedding for free to get a feel for the job , you will also need to view verious other peoples albums and memorise the expected poses , you will also need a good selection of wedding albums ( yet more expense ) to show and sell to people , the expectation today is that a digital sample of all the picture be given to the bride and groom to then select the final pictures for the album and any addition album ( for mother in laws )
its not an easy job and although it seems it its also not that well paid , expect approx 12 bookings a year and if you diversify into video than theres more booking/money to be made , i seriously would never give up any job to rely on this for an income as it will take over 5 yrs before your established0 -
