reduced hours & wages - help!!

Me and my wife were barely making ends meet as it was, but ive now been told im having my working hours, and in turn my wages reduced by one day.

I am grateful that i havent lost my job, but there is absolutely no way we can cope on this amount of money.

I have been to the jobcentre, and was told that there isnt one job in my area that was full time that i could apply for!!! not one!!

i really am panicking now, has anyone else been in the same situation? does anyone have any advice??

Could you not do temping for the 1 day that your not at work, also have you tried looking at reducing your bills eg shoping
  • would love to, but there's no temping work available either. employment is really poor around here at the minute

but you wrote on another post that you have a small business.
So why dont you make yourself some more work doing what ever you do?

And surely if its your business then you dictate the hours and wages that you give and pay yourself
  • that small business didnt work out. not had a lot of luck lately. so im working for someone else still.

Sorry to hear about your situation. In these times this can be very stressful. Does your wife go to work? If not could she perhpas apply for something even if it's just on a part time basis? It wasn't clear to me from your post wether she was employed or not.

    Good luck.
