Agencies feeling the recession

It looks as if even the employment agencies are falling victim to the credit crunch/recession. In my area We have lost 4 of the main High street agencies in the past 12 months. Adecco went first and then Best Connection in September. Brook Street went last month and now Reed have gone last week.
We are now left with only Office Angels and Pertemps in our area plus a few of the local independant ones. They are obviously at the moment getting more people to register with them but cannot offer the service to these people by looking for and finding them work. It does not bother me to much as I find in general agencies very hard work to deal with and will have to find employment with the speculative approach.

Take your pick. Two agencies I'm registered with had work availability come to a grinding halt at the end of October.0
