21st Birthday Party

I am having a party on the 10th January 2009 for my 21st, it's pretty much last minute planning due to one thing and another.

Does anyone know where the cheapest place is to get party decorations, I am going for a colour theme of black, silver, lime green, purple and blue.

Any ideas for home made decorations would also be brilliant as I am panicing and having a total mind block.

Also any suggestions on how to make sure everyone is having a good time and having fun would be good.
*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*

Maybe you can recycle some of the wrapping from Christmas presents for decorations?

Do you want to continue the colour theme into the food and drink? You could serve up Black Russian and White Russian cocktails, tia maria and coke, vodka and coke, Guinness, black coffee! etc. Foodwise litle canapes with cream cheese and black olives. Twiglets?!

Can't think of any more at the moment.

I'm sure everyone will have a good time. Just let everyone get on with it and let yourself enjoy it. Don't let it stress you out

For my 21st i got my food from iceland - the party packs are great value!! and costco, you need to be a member for that though. my parents handled the decorations really, we used things let over from another party and raided pound shops and markets for baloons banners etc. one thing they did which was really sweet and padded out the decorations was scan photos of me at various stages of growing up onto the computer, printed them off and put them up round the room which provided a few laughs for people to look at!!
Im not sure about entertainment ideas as i had mine in a hall with a dj so drink and music was taken care of for me.
am planning my bf's 21st for the 10th jan tho so if i get any ideas from that ill post them on here.

    Hope that helps!
  • thank you for your ideas, given me some places to start. Where I am having the party has a bar, but the drinks idea was good thinking

  • I would let themm buy there own drinks, and they'll buy you them aswell! I got alot of stuff from asda, iceland and aldi. Just do simple things like chicken legs, cocktail sausages, sandwiches, crisps, nut, cheese and pickle sticks. Dont do things too fancy as people get drunk and only want a munch. Most of mine went in the bin! :O xx
