Question about AMAZON pre/post Christmas sales.

Hi, I am thinking about buy an Western Digital 1TB external harddrive among other electronics at Amazon.co.uk and was wondering if the prices right now would be the cheapest possible because it's already 39% off or if there would be further reductions after Christmas? Would it be a gamble to wait and see if there are further sales or buy them right now? Would the 39% off offer and other offers still be there after Christmas? I have seen the prices fluctuate quite a bit over the past week..
I am asking this because I tried to buy them today and Amazon said it won't be delivered until bwtween January 5-11th 2009..
Thanks in advance!

If you pre-order Amazon sometimes give you the cheapest price between date or order and date they need to take money from your account. I would have thought it unlikely that the costs of any electronic item will go up in January given the current retail climate - computer stuff tends to decrease in price over time. But I could be wrong!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

That used to be the rule but I wonder if the sharp drop in the value of the £ will make prices of electronics manufactured abroad (as the vast majority of them are) go up instead?I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

Hi,
Amazon have a refund policy if the price drops further. So even if you get it now you should be able to get a refund on any further drops in price.
It definitely been mentioned before on here.0 -

does that work for everything? I have been trying to find it in the amazon help pages but couldn't.. How long after the purchase can you still call them and ask for the refunds?0 -
Can somebody find the link to this please? I'm aware that it stopped on 1st September but apart from phoning them and getting a refund this way, is this still an offer of theirs?
If not, the Price Promise mention on Martin's article needs to be removed.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it is back.
