my new plan for jan!

ok so i am doing loads of extra hours in work, and even more over the next few weeks, cause i finish up college on Tuesday for Christmas hols.

SO...i have worked out that i should get paid about £540 (wow, i never make more than £340!)
plus my student loan: £134
and bursary: £215

total: £889 (don't think i've ever had that much money before!)

Plus i am hoping *fingers crossed* i will get Christmas and Birthday money, not going to add that in for now, just incase lol

So i AM going to pay:

Bank of Scotland overdraft: £50
Carphone Warehouse arears: £51.73 (arears will be gone)
Phone Bill: £41
New Look Card: £70 (to get it gone)
Dorothy Perkins Card: £50
Arcadia Staff Card: £50
Additions Account: £130 (to get it gone)
Kays Acount: £24 (agreed payment plan 0%, best putting my money to debts with aprs for now i think)

=£422.27 left.

means 3 debts will be gone by the end of jan, meaning i should have more money to throw towards the rest of them from Feb

hmm i could prob still pay a bit more towards debts i think lookin at that.
what do you guys all think?

    Brilliant plan :T

Will be a fab start to the year with 2 debts gone and your arrears.
Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

    03/09/09 - DEBT FREE AT LAST :D
Racing Hypno to Save - £10/£5000
  • What do you normally have left over each month after bills etc?

I would allow myself that plus a little bit to treat myself for working all the extra hours and keep me motivated then put the rest to my debts (highest interest first obviously)

Think about Christmas & Birthday money if and when you get it.

Good on you for working the extra hours, it will be worth it when you see your debts reduced!

thanks, i really hope so. i think i'll stick with it how it is for now, as i still need to give my mum £150 rent, and bus fares for the rest of the month.
And if i have some spare cash i'll throw it at the Dorothy Perkins and Staff cards.

I think i'll keep my birthday/christmas money (if i get any) for myself, with put half into my savings account and treat myself with the other half.

thanks, i would normally only have about £20-£30 left over, after bills, rent and putting away money for bus fares for the money (i get a weekly ticket)

Yes, the Additions account is the worst for intrest (39.7%), so thats why i'm getting rid of that for sure!
The Dorothy Perkins and my staff cards are ar 29.9 and the New Look card is 28.9, as i only have £70 on that i'm going to get that cleared too, will make me feel a bit better and keep me motivated knowing that 2 debts will be gone!
  • i paid an extra £10 to additions yeterday, meanin i now only have to pay £120 in jan to clear it, so will pay the other £10 to Dorothy Perkins card

As soon as you clear the accounts, write and cancel the accounts.

That will start to improve your credit situation. Nothing like have loads of expensive credit, available but unused to upset potential creditors.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

    thanks, i will do that!
Especially since i'm only 21 just now, so i don't really want this to effect me in the future if/when i move out lol
