Hi not sure if posted in the right bit as i am a newbie to this forum :T

i recently took arogs up on one off the special offers in one off the emails i recieved.

This was they were doing the babyliss pro 230 radiance straightners for £49.99 instead off the normal £99.99 as apresent for the daughter. Cat number 443/0937

On the website they said they were giving away a free set off babyliss red brushes away free, cat number 441/6511.

now when i went to pick them up, i was told that the brushes were out off stock at my local store. I went to another store the next day to see if they had any, again they told me they were outta stock???

I had to return a item to my local store today as it was faulty and i got the customer services guy to check stock over the uk for the brushes so he could get some sent down so i could give the brushes to my daughter for xmas along with the straightners. He told me no where in the uk had them in stock and wouldn't be getting any in next week either.

so they offer the item but with no stock off the brushes???????????????

has anyone else brought these and wondered why they can't get the brushes, i ahev email argos's head office for a answer.

If they don't have any stock there's not a lot you can do except wait patiently for them to come back into stock (if they ever do). It's not like you paid for the brushes... they are free so you haven't technically lost out on anything.

i also bought these but before they came down in price,i paid £79.99 anyway i didnt get the brushes either but at the bottom of my recipt it says im due them and i suppose keep trying,although they shouldnt state they come free if there never any in stock,its like fake advertising

No i haven't lost out on anything, you are quite right there, but its the advertising campaign they have done for this offer, i.e tv,internet and in store. They have advertised something with a product they cannot honour, thus in turn opening them selves up to claims off false advertising that could potentionally hurt the company.

Really sorry that I can not help here I really do hope that you get your freebie. This has never happened to me before so can not help really.

Just wanted to say that if you wanted to give her some brushes as well, then the pound shops do some nice sets. Obviously they are not the ones you want but maybe they could be a stand in until you get your freebie?

Hi, I 've just had the same problem. Bought the Straighteners today and asked about the brushes. None of the assistants had heard about the offer (even though there was huge posters all around the shop). She went in the back and after about 15 mins came back saying they were out of stock. I was given a slip of paper saying to call back in for the brushes but doubt I will as the store was not local (it was the only one that had the straightener in stock). xxx

Well just recieved a email back from argos regarding the issue with the brushes, which i have quoted below

My Quest goes on to find out how they can offer something they do not stock and won't tell me if or when they will get stock off them.

I'm really confused.
Also have an issue with the brushes.. in that I there were none.
But.. babyliss pro 230 radiance straightners for £49.99... my boyfriend bought me them today for a xmas present and they cost him £97.86!!!!! Argos reduced the price and then put it back up again?!?! Thats hardly fair....is it?!

Even though it says to collect within 2 months on the receipt, most stores are not too fussy if it takes longer...however as the new catalogue comes out in January it may be that nowhere will get any more deliveries
Good luck though & I hope you find some. When the shop person said they searched all over the UK then that was B$*@(*(& as there is no way to do that unless they searched every single individual store (!) - the computer system automatically searches about 8 local stores but it's not a UK wide search. Also it only lists delivery information for the store you were in - you can't tell if any other stores are expecting deliveries through the Argos system. It's worth going online and checking stock at any stores you may travel close to just in case!

price went up last wednesday ,, got mine from amazon at £49.95 last wednesday was delivered friday

I watched the guy search on there internal system, they can check every store in the uk :P

And as for tracking online, the item number that they have put them under doesnt exsist on the online site, only instore.
