Are We Being Ripped Off!!

Sorry if im posting in the wrong area, anyway on 10-12-05 "katmac" posted in " I wanna buy-it or do-it " info regards a " MP3 Player & Speaker Set " from Empire direct at £29.99. Well i got one for my son for christmas and he loves it and my youngest daughter whos heavily into music wanted one instead of the one she was using cause it was so much better and in her price bracket,(15 in december). so after xmas in the new year i brought up the site to place another order for the same seeing how it was such a good price. To my horror and this is where my question begins with regards to being ripped off, the MP3 player is now on the site for "Original price of £39.99 but the Sale price is £34.99, a saving of £5.00 for a limited period before it reverts to its full price of £39.99. Well people tell me whats going on here? i'm sure there are rules regarding offering products for sale with regards their original price and what you are offering it for now? This is what i'm asking you all for is the info regarding the laws regarding offering products for sale at prices more than they were in the first place in respect to what they say is their sale price disregarding the original price giving everyone the inpression they are getting a bargain.This they clearly aren't and contary to our philosify of clawring out a bargain clearly they are ripping us off, iv'e sent them an email allready complaining and bringing to their attention this discrepancy in price but they have just ignored me without any response, i wonder why? Comments please.
