I moved into a new rented accomodation about 2months ago, my friend was going to rent a room off me after xmas but however is not now and im going to struggle to pay for the house myself. my options are to move to a 1bed cheap flat or try find a new lodger.
what will the OR see to this? im going bankrupt in january.
im scared also if i declare bankruptcy my landlord would kick me out and id be on the streets, i have no family near me so cant move in with them and moneys getting really tight now im starting to have panic attacks.
so many options.

hi, have you checked your tenancy agreement to see if there is a bankruptcy clause in it? if there is, then the landlord would be able to end your tenancy.
would you be happier and would it be more affordable if you moved to a one bed flat?
You can take in a lodger still who would contribute to household expenses and this would reduce the expenses on your soa.
Please do not panic, things will get sorted out.
check your tenancy agreement and come back here for advice any time you need it.
Are you still paying your creditors or have you stopped? And have you taken advice from the cccs or national debtline?
You may also be able to get a crisis loan from the dwp but if you do get this, I don't know whether it would get included in your BR so you may still have to pay it back.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
I'd try and get the room rented out before you start to get into arrears. Put a card in all the shops and ask around. Also put the room for rent on gumtree.com and any other place you can think of.
Once that is sorted and you have some positive history with your landlord he would probably not throw you out as you have proven to be a good tenant. I think most people on here have been able to stay in their rented accommodation.
The OR should be impartial. Just explain to him as you have to us.
Saying that - would you feel more secure in a smaller place knowing that you don't have to rely on anyone else to pay the rent? If so it may be worth looking for a smaller place.
