I claimed my jsa ONLY up to 13 weeks , and attended a 13 weeks interview last week . The advisor asked me to join in a Employment Zone who can help my cv and such etc ,,,
I went the zone for my first appointment and really dont like it . Can I go the job center plus to ask the adviser to have it look at again , or I can choose go the employment zone after 6 month JSA.

You may find that they tell you you'll be sanctioned if you don't attend.0

At 13 weeks unemployed you would have been a voluntary referral, however at the point of accepting the referral you are mandated to attend.
Failure to do so without good reason may result in a sanction of two weeks and four weeks for future non-attendance.
Employment Zone can offer more specific and tailored support than the jobcentre. It's a two way relationship. You only get out of it what you put in.
Employment Zone are contracted and rewarded on 'sustained' employment, ie jobs that are expected to last more than 13 weeks.
Give them a go. Make the most of this opportunity.0 -

EZ is mandatory for those ages 18-24 at the 6 month interview for those who have been on New Deal before.
If aged 25 or over, EZ is mandatory at the 18 month interview.
EZ is postcode specific.
If you don't live in an EZ postcode area, you join New Deal.
Failure to start EZ can result in sanctions of 2 weeks for 1st failure and 4 weeks for 2nd and subsequent failures.0 -

Look at it in a positive note Tony at least you getting help with your CV, surely that's only a good thing, right? After all a good CV can make all the difference in getting a job or not getting a job. Or would you prefer not have any help with your CV and just send out a substandard (not that it is!) CV and than wonder why you are not hearing back. The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0

At the point of the 13 week interview, you would have been an 'early entrant' and would have had a choice if you wanted to go to EZ, rather than be a mandatory referral.
Unfortunately however, once you sign up to EZ you then become a participant and the rest is mandatory.
You won't be able to come off EZ and be re-referred later without the possibility of benefits being affected.
Make the most of EZ. Put your heart into it and do your best. The EZ providers do have an interest in you and they are a lot more flexible with any financial support than the JC can be. Before they do this however, they need to see the committment from you.
Best of luck.0 -
If you have been seeking work for at least 13 weeks, and not found work, then you do need help with your jobsearch skills. EZ is a means for you to get that help.
If what you have been doing for 13 weeks hasn't worked, what were you going to do differently to make the difference in the next 13. You actually wrote as though you weren't too positive about getting anything before the 26 weeks were up and were probably just going to do whatever you have been doing so far - which hasn't got you a job.
Make the most of what is being offered to you. You need it.0
